Lakes Erie and Ontario

8/22/20 Pickeral Creek in Pickeral Wildlife Sanctuary
We kayaked 1.2 miles to Sandusky Bay, an inlet of Lake Erie

Westside market in Cleveland, Ohio.  This building was full of fresh produce, there was another building full of meats and cheeses!

8/24/20 Presque Isle peninsula in Pennsylvania.  Beautiful bike trails along Lake Erie with lovely beaches to stop for a swim.

8/25/20 Lighthouse in Barcelona, NY

8/25/20 Mr Momb took us on a great sunset bike ride to the Erie Canal in Tonawanda, NY

8/26/20 Niagara Falls

8/27/20 Yates town park- lovely quiet park on Lake Ontario

8/30/20 Fort Ontario State Historic Site in Oswego, NY

This was the only location in the US that took Jewish refugees from WWII.

They housed 900 Jewish refugees for a year towards the end of the war.

In contrast, South America took over 35,000 refugees!

8/30/20 Ontario Orchards- our Harvest Host for the night.  We parked between the apple orchard on one side and the Christmas tree farm on the other side.

8/29/20 Swam at Ontario Beach

We now have been able to swim in all 5 Great Lakes on this trip!

CARS!

8/20/20 Automobile and Truck Museum in Auburn Indiana- Classic car capitol of the world!

An actual wick lantern for headlights!

I guess this is where the term 'trunk of a car' came from- it used to be an actual trunk.

Cool snowplow!

After visiting the museum, we walked down to Main street where they were having their monthly rally of classic cars.  There were probably a couple hundred classic cars lined up all down Main street and all the side streets as well!

8/21/20 Snooks Dream Cars in Bowling Green, Ohio

My favorite cars were these British Sportsters...
