Yellowstone National Park: August 15-16, 2017

Nature Trail along the Grand Loop

This bison was looking right at me while he was walking through the field towards me!  So I retreated back into the camper, and quietly- yelled at Ken to get inside as he was standing there watching this huge Bison! The big horned beauty walked right behind us and crossed the road.

I hiked down about 10 switchbacks to get to the top of Lower Falls: with the killer view below:

 Norris Geyser Basin

 Fountain Paint Pots

Back Basin: Steamboat Geyser

 Bubbling Mud Pot

We were standing looking at Vixon Geyser hole (above), when it suddenly erupted (below)!
(I wish I had a picture to share of Ken's face when this happened.)

We waited for about 1.25 hours for Old Faithful to erupt, after about an hour we heard that there were  predicted times for it to go off from the rangers.  It erupted about 10 minutes after the predicted time.
