Airparks

8/17/2020  Erie, Illinois
Jim gave us a tour of his workshop where he builds these ultralight aircraft out of silky polyester fabric glued onto lightweight aluminum frames.
Yes, here I am, climbed into the glued fabric plane, my feet are on the aluminum bar since there is only a fabric floor. No doors, no windows, just a lap seatbelt... and off we go...
Sent these pics to my son, who knows I am afraid of heights. He said "there's no way you got into that 2 seater plane- this must be photoshopped!
Well, yes, I was petrified.  But I figured this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I tried to distract myself from my fear by focussing on taking a lot of pictures.

Jim was a wonderful pilot.  He talked to me the whole time over the headset as we flew like a bird over the fields, and the town of Erie.  It was such a smooth ride.

Thanks Jim for such a memorable ride- that I will never forget!

Jim just flew over to say hi and see how we were doing the next morning, what a great host!

8/18/20 Skydive Chicago, our Harvest Host where we enjoyed watching other people jump out of airplanes!

They would jump out of the airplane at 12,000-14,000'- a spec we could barely see through the binoculars
They would free fall for 1 minute and then land on the grassy area in front of us 5 to 7 min later!
